What It Takes

Our software solutions are designed to make managing your practice an effective and effortless, almost invisible process.  But, behind every good software solution is a hardware infrastructure that it runs best on.   So whether you're looking for a turn-key solution that includes both our software and our recommended hardware or if you're just looking to run our software on your existing hardware, there are certain minimum guidelines your equipment must meet.

Dell PartnerDell PartnerTurnkey Systems:  For your convenience and assured compatibility, we provide both hardware and software configured for the specific needs of your practice.  Let us outfit your entire office(s) through our simplified one-stop shopping process.  Easy, convenient and guaranteed, we sell and configure the highest quality components and peripherals available and will supply you with the best configuration possible to suit the needs of your practice as well as your budget.

Hardware Alliance Program:  For those customers who would like to obtain hardware from their local supplier, we've created a Hardware Alliance Program designed to assist your local supplier with our configuration requirements and installation specifications.  Tell us who you'd like to buy your equipment from and we will work closely with that supplier and make sure their equipment meets the requirements, both in quality and standards.  This assures a smooth installation process and protects you from experiencing unnecessary problems during your training and on-going system use.

Hardware Requirements:  For those customers with existing equipment, please refer to the minimum requirements listed here to ensure your hardware is compatible with your new practice management solution.

Your Advantage Software solution has proven compatibility with the following network operating systems:

  • Windows 2000 Server (LAN/WAN)

  • Windows 2003 Server (LAN/WAN)

  • Windows NT Server (LAN ONLY)

  • Windows XP Professional

  • Windows NT Workstation

  • Windows 2000 Professional

  • Windows Server 2003 has been successfully tested with Advantage Software; however, we do NOT recommend using a Microsoft operating system before the release of its first service pack.

  • Advantage Software has been tested and is compatible with Citrix Metaframe using Windows Server environments.

  • Advantage Software is not yet compatible with MacIntosh or Unix Operating Systems or derivatives, including Linux.

You must have Windows 2000 or XP as your Operating System on the workstations. Installation of Windows NT SERVER should be limited to your server only!

Our software is compatible with other networks, however, due to our choice for programming language and tools, we recommend only one of the above four network environments.  Please contact your sales representative if you are considering a different network solution.
